Heart Dice and a Freebie Math Game

Hope you have all been to Target to get their dollar deals for Valentines.  If not, head over right away before everything is gone!  I personally think they should have a little "teacher room" where they guarantee that the dollar deals are always available for teachers.  Perhaps I should make that suggestion.

They have the cutest Valentines "stuff".  They've got eraser packs and heart dice that are adorable.  They also have some cute little buckets - I love little containers.  It's just not possible to have enough if you like to pretend that you're organized.  Besides, it's nice to change the styles and colors with each holiday.

I just couldn't resist creating this fun little math center game with the dice.  Students roll the dice, count the hearts, and color (or cover) the sum of the two dice.  Students are done once one row is complete.  It's great counting and adding practice.  If the students play as partners, the first to cover one full row is the winner.

Have a great week and be sure to come back next Wednesday.  I have a fun little graphing freebie using the Target erasers.

  3. That is a super cute dice activity! Thank you! I was at Target this past Friday, and I didn't see those cute dice. I love them. They will put a little more spark into the dice fun! I definitely need to see if they have them now.

  8. Found you on TBA Freebie Friday. And yes, you should definitely tell Target to put their stock aside for teachers!!! :) I live about 3 hours away from a Target, so by the time I get there, all the cool stuff I've seen posted on blogs is G-O-N-E, gone! Love this game and I will use it with my class even if I have to use plain old boring dice. Hehehe

    1. Mrs Yazzi,

Thanks for your comment. It must be so frustrating to have to travel 3 hours to get to a Target and then find the items gone! I went to target last week and they have these really cute pink and red dice - no hearts :( though.

I would love to mail you a set- please email me your address and I'll send you a set of pink and red dice.
