April Currently

I'm linking with Farley's April Currently

Listening... to the pond in the back yard.  We are full into spring and our back yard pond is blooming and growing.  It's lovely to sit at the computer and look out the window, and listen to the "music" of the pond.
Loving... our spring weather.  Wild flowers are blooming, it's under 90 degrees (and that's saying something!).  I am having to be outside as much as possible!
Thinking... I'm ready for a new craft project.  I love craft, sewing, and art projects.  I just found a new blog "Renegade Seamstress" and it's just too fun and inspiring.  This gal takes really unattractive second-hand store clothing and remakes them into really cute outfits.   The other fun site I found is Thrift Diving.com.  This blogger takes thrift store disasters and creates fun pieces of furniture for her home.  She has some great examples of remakes that would be fabulous for the classroom.

Wanting... just a few more hours in each day!  Enough said.

Needing... some new recipes.  I'm on week 6 of having gone "vegan".  I need some recipe inspiration!

Advice... appreciate what you have.  I am so grateful for everyday that awake on the "up-side" of the ground :) ... considering the alternative!   Because we live in such a consumer oriented society, I fear that sometimes we forget to appreciate all that we have.

Enjoy-
Granny (Cindy)

P.S.  My Heart Belongs in First is hosting a wonderful fundraiser for a little boy with E.B.  For a $10.00 donation, you'll get $85.00 worth of products from great bloggers.  The cause is worthy and the kiddos in your class will benefit from the great learning packets you'll receive.  It's well worth checking out.

  3. The weather here in Alabama has been cr-a-zeeeee!! It started out like warm summer weather, then we had rainy spring weather, and today we had cold winter like weather. 3 seasons in one week. Yep! Your pond is really pretty. I bet it's peaceful to sit and listen! I have tadpoles growing in my room. Want them when they turn into frogs? :)

    1. O.K. Dawn... I just have to ask: Why do you have tadpoles growing in your room?

  4. I love your pond! That is one of my dreams...that and some landscaping in our yard, that is!

Here's a great meatless recipe...I love it and could eat it every night! (It does have feta, which really makes it yummy, but I am not sure if you are eating dairy.) http://allrecipes.com/recipe/sukis-spinach-and-feta-pasta/

  6. Soooooo jealous of your spring weather. I just got back from the most northern parts of Michigan where there was at least a foot of snow still on the ground. This has been the longest winter I can remember. I love thrift stores!
