Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss: Photo Booth Props and Writing Prompts

We were in class only three days last week... and why, might you ask?  Rodeo Break!  That's right in Tucson all k-12 schools and some of the colleges get Rodeo Days off.

It may sound silly but it's a BIG deal here.  We have a huge parade and days and days of rodeo competition.  Truth be told, when I was a child I thought Rodeo was a national holiday :).

So with a few extra days of "free time" on my hands, I decided to create a Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss Photo Booth mini-packet for use next week.

I created a hat, a tie , and of course the children's famous pet fish.  I will be reading the story, and the children will respond to one of three writing prompts.  I left a space on each writing prompt to either draw a picture or glue on their photo booth pictures.

My granddaughters kindly offered to model the props.

The packet contains 3 props and 3 Common Core Standards aligned writing prompts.
