Gingerbread Man Ornaments

We had a BLAST today making Gingerbread Man ornaments and playing Holiday Bingo.  The kids had a great time and the ornaments turned out so dang cute!  This was a "no-fail" project.

My husband was kind enough to cut out the gingerbread men from wood.  If you don't have a jigsaw, craft foam works just as well.

Here's end product.

I created a file for myself that includes, supplies, directions, and the patterns for the gingerbread man, and the pants and dress.  If you would like a copy, please let me know in the comments and I'll email you my file.  PLEASE remember to include your email address in your comment.

Guided Art: Reindeer on Canvas

My daughter asked me to put together a guided art project that she could do with her daughter's 4th grade class.  We had some limitations to deal with... cost being one of the biggest factors.  She also wanted a project that was sophisticated enough for 4th graders AND that would virtually be "fail safe".

Here's the project I put together for my granddaughter's 4th grade class.

For detailed directions, click here.

They all turned out adorable.  The kids are so excited about putting their canvas creations under their Christmas trees.  These adorable reindeer will surely decorate homes for years to come!

Each creation turned out beautifully (the "fail safe" requirement).
The cost per child was only $2.00 (the cost requirement).

New Year's Photo Booth Freebie

Here's the 2015 version of last year's New Year Photo Booth activity.  The kids loved it, the writing prompt was a great way to have the kiddos start thinking about some academic goals, and the bulletin board was delightful.

Help yourselves to this freebie and...if the mood strikes you leave a comment- I'd be thrilled :)

Christmas "Grump" Craft and Writing Prompts

Looking for a fun activity to use the week before Christmas/Winter break?  We read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and I was looking for a SIMPLE and EASY follow up craft and writing prompt.

I didn't find quite what I was looking for in terms of simplicity.  The little ones I work with are still developing their listening, cutting, and following directions skills.  I needed a craft that the kids would love AND that would not frustrate them.  So... here you go!

This super simple  Christmas Grump packet includes:
* Two writing prompts (primary and secondary writing paper available for both prompts).
* Patterns ready to copy onto construction paper.  (No need for the little ones to trace patterns)
